A real spring day today. There were up to 10 monarchs at any one time around my garden with a number of females busy laying eggs. Many of the swan plants had numerous eggs at all stages. I collected 5 cats to put into my butterfly house. The first paper wasp of the season was flying around narrowly avoiding execution. The warmth had also brought out a significant number of young praying mantis. Aphids have got off to great start too as my mustard coloured fingers attest to. Lets hope the positives outweigh the negatives this breeding season

Good to hear, Hugo! Have you reported this to http://www.mb.org.nz, so that the information is in our database? It would be very useful if you could do that, please.
