    A GOLD Coast skin doctor is furious that a homegrown cure for sunspots and skin cancers is set to be sold off to the Danes before it even reaches the market.

    Brisbane scientists announced this year they had created a breakthrough gel from common milkweed which could treat sunspots in two days and kill non-melanoma skin cancers.

    Dr Evans said he had been following the literature on the product and was astounded at its success.

    "I was very interested because I could see it was going to save my patients enormous amounts of surgery," he said.

    The milkweed gel was also being tested against cancers such as leukaemia and showing positive signs.

    Milkweed has long been used as a home remedy in Australia for sunspots which prompted Dr Jim Aylward to investigate its properties.
