For some reason after the flowers have been pollinated the flower is falling off as it should but then over the next couple days the whole little stalk falls off as well. Does anyone know why this happens or even how I can stop it?

Ah! But why get rid of them? They’re such a pretty little moth and don’t compete with the monarchs for food.

Check for the looper caterpillars. They are green (sometimes brownish green) and destroy the flowers and the tips of the plants and make a mess of it. I got rid of about 30 of them off a large swan plant in our garden.

I would think that your plant is too dry but that depends on where you are… if you’re in Southland I’m wrong.
