I have this butterfly with injured wings that I rescued. I will try and repair the wing later, but I’m trying to get it to drink and it isn’t. She spent the entire night with her feet in a sugar water-soaked cotton ball, but she never drank. I even carefully pried out her proboscis several times but still nothing! I have been following this site: http://butterflyrescue.com/feedingbutterflies.htm
I will also try making the simple syrup, but this butterfly only seems to like tasting the food, not eating it!

If it’s a new monarch then it won’t be interested in feeding for 24 or 48 hours.

The advice we’re giving out for wing repairs may be useful to you, Charlotte… this was mentioned in a thread about a week ago. Look under the hot tags “disease” or “wings” to see if it shows up.
