I’ll also add that Liatris spicata (marsh blazing star, purple and white flowered) are fantastic too but the specific variety listed in his book (Liatris ligulistylis, meadow blazing star) is not in New Zealand that i’m aware of (please correct me if i’m wrong because i want one)but can be purchased as seed from everwilde dot com.

I’m growing most of the plants that this book lists as being butterfly and bee magnets but i will add that North American perennial Joe Pye weed (Eupatorium purpureum) which is available from the fragrant garden dot co dot nz and Eupatorium cannabinum which you can get from nikau hill dot co dot nz are fantastically fragrant and pretty perennials that bees and butterflies just go mad over.
