Can giant milkweed grow successfully here in NZ?
Do the cats respond well to this form of milkweed?
If yes, where can i buy plants or obtain the seeds?

The leaves are not much larger than the common swan plant, but they do seems to be thicker (think of sandwich-cut vs toast-cut bread), the plants grow taller and seem to be denser in the foliage. Otherwise it looks much like the swan plant and it’s difficult to tell the difference until you see the seed pods.

    Hi Jacqui.
So is the Gomphocarpus physocarpus different the the common milkweed as in bigger in leaf shape?
And do the cats respond well to it, meaning, is it a good food source?

I believe you’re referring to Calotropis gigantea and not the giant swan plant (Gomphocarpus physocarpus) of which we sell the seed (look under SHOP).

I haven’t heard of anyone growing C. gigantea here in NZ.
