    Hi
My “Lil Dude” has fallen while pupating. He is currently on his side on a leaf slightly below where he started and appears to be pupating still.

Do I leave him there or wait for him to finish (if he does!) and then string him up with cotton and hot glue?

    He still has his stick.

    Thanks in advance

    Thanks Jacqui.

Should I start turning him now or wait until he has finished?
I worry that he might fall with vibrations (he is inside at the moment).

    Hi Willow

I suggest leaving him where he is but if it’s resting on a flat surface, turn it occasionally so it doesn’t get stuck.

If you read other forum posts, they don’t HAVE to be hanging to successfully emerge as butterflies. I don’t ever hang mine any more as it saves so much more time and I can therefore have more emerging. Search the hot tags on chrysalis and pupae and something should show up.

    Cheers

    Jacqui
