    I found 4 Chrysalises early last Month and put them in my small cage for them to Hatch and this is in my Garage today I Male Monarch hatched, Have tagged it and it is in the sun outside. I am surprised they hatched in this cold weather.

    Ive two left to hatch from last autumns batch. Only 50 percent have been making it now. I havent seen the odd one flying around at home and quite a few at work. Frost again today so that might slow things down again.

    Great work, Martie. Yes, it’s taking them much longer to develop… but everyone helps. I’m travelling in the Far North at present and caught a monarch last week laying eggs on plants in Waitaruke – plus there were about half a dozen caterpillars there.
