There’s this part of the chrysalis that is stuck onto the butterfly. The butterfly has been trying to get it off of itself for a while now. What can I do?

I will also use cotton buds soaked in a little warm water to wipe off little bits of case on the wings and body.

I pull stuck pupa casing off Monarchs with small tweezers with flat edge tips.
I create soft tips by wrapping face tape from the Pharmacy around the ends and trimming any gluey edges off.
Fingers will do for large pieces of casing. But for getting cowls off heads, and buoys from around the abdomen – small tweezers do well. But not pointy tipped ones – they can poke holes in the wings.

its not uncommon. Usually it can be very gently peeled off. Maybe soften it with a fine mist of water first.
