    Hi all

I have had yellow admirals hatching since around June 24. Today I released the 27th butterfly! There are 2 pupae which will hatch in the next few days. I have 1 cat in a J at the top of the mosquito net and 4 large cats which should make the climb in the next day or so. It has all happened over quite a long time frame. I have no idea how the butterflies are coping with this wet, blustery weather.
I hope some of them will survive & am already potting up Urtica seedlings from my vegie garden in readiness for spring.

    Hi Jacqui

I am in Cambridge. It has been really interesting following these caterpillars. I was not sure what would happen after eggs were laid late autumn. It is certainly much easier for the caterpillars to survive in winter without all the predators!
