Hi, I have tagged several butterflies this past week or two. The first couple flew off and we haven’t seen them again. The last butterfly however returned the next day and was feeding on our plants. Is this something that should be noted and recorded? Or do they have to fly a certain distance before any recovery details are recorded?
Likewise if that same butterfly was to return a week later should that be noted too?

    thanks 🙂

Yes, record it, but I suggest you put the co-ordinates in of the neighbouring property (so you can see a line between your place and theirs). Otherwise the two co-ordinates are on top of each other and nothing s visible.

Yes, all returning tagged butterflies should be recorded.
