    Hi Jackie

Im just reading our local Taranaki Star paper and have come across a photo of monarchs wintering in our local park.
The photo was taken on May the 15th 2015 in Hawera’s King Edward Park by someone just walking through. The monarchs were on a Totara tree.
I might just have to try check it my self.

    Hi Jackie

I am still having problems with reporting overwintering monarchs. It is not putting in the latitude even if I try and add the latitude from google maps in manually nothing happens. Is there a contact I rig to forward info thanks

    Hi Michelle

I have just found King Edward Park in Google maps. I am not sure WHERE the tree is, but I would suggest this. If the tree(s) were towards the southern side of the park, then when I zoom in I find the property across the road is 369 High Street. I use that address and in the description on the form I put “in the park about 200 metres north of this address”.

Thanks for your perseverance! I think getaddress.net is down, but you could also use this one here, it seems to work (although it starts out with a location in the USA, so you have zoom out until you can see the Pacific on your map then drag the marker to nearer home before zooming in to fine tune.

Good work, thanks for reminding me to investigate the getaddress not working.

    Hi Jackie

I went and saw the overwintering monarchs at King Edward Park in Hawera and took some photos although they weren’t as good as the photos that appeared in our local paper due to being a dull day (and less Monarchs).
I am having trouble reporting it. I tried to get a street number for the park from google earth to no avail and when I try to use http://www.getaddress the page wont download.
Do you have any other options I can try.
    regards
    Michelle

Great to hear, Michelle. If you see them, please report it to http://www.mb.org.nz so it goes straight into the database. Would be wonderful to see!
