Does anyone know the condition that these nectar plants will thrive in?

Could the white Montanoa grandiflora (Mexican tree daisy) and the
    golden Tithonia diversifolia (Mexican sunflower)
grow in frosty wind blown Wellington suburbs??
    Thanks Fiona

A plant called paper bush which some people referred to as yellow daphne has just been discussed on Facebook . My friend tells me that Auckland is not cold enough for it so it might suit you in Wellington

    Hi Fiona

Think about the warmest part of your garden… it will be sheltered from the prevailing winds and full sun.

Is your garden on a north-facing slope, i.e. the land on the northern side lower and on the southern side higher… giving your property more daylight.

Is there a wall or a fence – both of these plants grow very quickly and need to have support. (At the end of the season they can be cut down and you start all over again.)

If you have a spot there to try them, then why not give them a go?
