Does anyone know where the pest plant Moth vine (Araujiia sericifera) is growing in Hamilton or Cambridge? Surely must be some growing in vacant lots or waste ground somewhere? This is needed as stop-gap alternative food for hungry Monarch caterpillars.

I rang the Council today and he told me they had recently done a survey of moth vine in Hamilton, but of course, most of the plants they found have now been “controlled”. He mentioned a couple of sites, one near McDonalds Greenwood St, and one beside Liquor King Te Rapa Rd. I’m going to have a look when I get a spare minute, but anyone else looking for food for hungry Monarch caterpillars could give it a go. They do eat it OK. Don’t know anything about whereabouts of plants in Cambridge. Does anyone else?
