One monarch fluttering around my giant swan plant. Sadly there was a second dead monarch further away on the grass.

crimson and black. Body 1cm long. not a red admiral. Wing colour reversed – large black area is red underside, red part black beneath. Have photos. Black edges, legs.

New hatches from our Swan plants. One butterfly is flying, the other seems to be taking a long time to flatten out its wings. Caterpillars seem to disappear off the plants before the chrysalis stage

This butterfly is half the size of a white butterfly and did not appear to travel quickly. Its wings were a pink/scarlet colour all over. I have never seen this type before so thought you may be intereseted

Flying adult, laying eggs, 3 larvae of different sizes, eggs. Pictures and videos taken. Butterfly sightings over at least last two weeks on this one plant at my work place.

We have about 8 swan plants for children to learn about the monarch lifecycle. On sunny days there are always wasps flying about the swans 🙁
