Brown monarch larva

Jolanda Stachyshyn in Gisborne sent us these photos of a monarch caterpillar which has brown stripes instead of black. First time we’ve heard of it! Jolanda had been raising monarchs for over twenty years in Auckland before starting again in Gisborne.
