I have a new butterfly, hatched this afternoon, with quite a large bubble in its wing. The fluid inside looks green. I've done a Google search to see if I should drain it or leave it but I couldn't find any information.

    Any ideas?

    I'll try to add pics.

The bubble is blood. For some reason (often because we touch the wing before it's fully inflated) the blood vessels in the wing were ruptured. We normally ignore them and they do fine. It tends to drain itself after a while. They aren't perfect, but they're not too concerned about their looks. They just want to fly!

You're right. A couple of days later it had gone down and the butterfly has since been released.
