    Hi Clinton,

Perhaps you could try Oratia natives. They send plants out, but not sure what prices. They have the muehlenbeckia in stock.

Copper butterflies have 2 weeks lifespan.

Stress (through being caught) may cause the butterflies to dies in few days.

It is best to leave oviposting butterflies where they are until you have enough host plant to accommodate the eggs/larvae.

I think Norm might be away at present.

yes..have since looked up their life span and 1 week is considered long.. such a short wee life...I agree with Jacqui

I found the muehlenbeckia in bush where I caught the old female copper butterfly, this morning and I brought two plants, one smaller plant went to caterpillar castle which had alive female copper butterfly.

No need for you to send me muehlenbeckia.

Clinton, when you see another copper butterfly it may pay to just track her for a while and wait till you see her lay eggs, and collect a few of them, so she doesn't get stressed and die an early death?
