One of the benefits of an infestation of milkweed aphids is that I got to see a large spotted ladybird (Harmonia conformis) in my garden.

They are quite large for ladybirds, about 6-7mm long. They have a light reddish appearance and their colouration includes 20 large black spots, 18 of which are found on the elytra (wing covers).
