Taking clothing off washing line, throwing pegs into peg bucket and noticed monarch butterfly inside bucket and closer inspection noticed the tag on wing.
Freshly hatched in our garden. Had trouble hanging on and was lying on its side for a few minutes unable to get up. Administered a few ml of honey water and it perked back up again. Is currently hanging nicely on a swan plant outside. Wing ever so slightly damaged but doesn’t look like it [...]
Counted about 30 monarch butterflies hanging in a tree near the petanque terrain. Wings closed, previously seen flying around tree.
Monarchs mating, very old.
