Dead in garden

Colours bright – newly hatched; flew round our garden then went across the road to where there are some rhodedendrons in flower + lots of bushes for it to shelter in overnight.

We have watched the chrysalis (attached to outdoor furniture) for a few weeks now. It changed from dark green with gold flecks to transparents in last 5 days. There are about 20 swanplants in this garden which are frequented by large numbers of Monarchs. These lay their eggs; eggs hatch…..ending with more Monarchs hatching out and flying off. There are always Monarchs flying around every time I visit this garden.

There have been large numbers of Monarchs visiting my garden and laying eggs since late Spring. Latest sighting was yesterday when 2 butterflies came into the garden. 1 battered by cat but both looked in relatively bright new colouration.

Taking clothing off washing line, throwing pegs into peg bucket and noticed monarch butterfly inside bucket and closer inspection noticed the tag on wing.
