Norm Twigge of Whakatane became interested in insects at age 11 and his interest focussed on butterflies as he became older. In later years observing and propagating Monarch butterflies was followed by breeding Red and Yellow admirals, with a desire to breed other native species.
He has recently retired from the building industry and can now spend more time indulging in his passion.
