Fly away, flutterbye
Mary Parkinson is the key person involved in the development of the butterfly garden at Te Puna Quarry Park, and became a trustee of the MBNZT in January 2008.
Through her hard work the project in Tauranga has been a great success with Monarchs and Admirals enjoying the experience.
When she had time (i.e. before butterflies) Mary was a florist, and grew orchids and bromeliads as well as having a beautiful garden. Now it seems she works full time on butterfly matters.
