11 Monarchs sunning themselves on two large bushes (variety unknown) at top of Summit Road, Fairfield, Lower Hutt

Three sunny mornings in a row! The butterflys are loving it. They have found the Tree Lucern which is now flowering.Have counted 25 on it and others floating around.Most have survived the hail storms by hanging UNDER the leaves I have discovered.
butterfly was flapping on concrete steps - seemed exhausted
1 monarch, good condition, searching for food ,landed on geranium few spent flowers
8 monarchs on 3-4 adjacent large trees.
One monarch (female) alighted on a camellia bush.
found dead under a blossom tree with eight other dead tagged butterflies
