5 monarchs on two adjacent tall trees, hanging with folded wings.
Butterflies at the top of a very high Camphor Laurel tree, an overwintering site 2 yr ago but I didn’t see any there last year, poss because of only occasional visits

Crysalis’ which have hatched in my home garden,2 males, have needed to bring butterflies inside during extreme weather conditions, fed them with watered down honey,let them go when weather settles
Plenty sunning themselves, and a mating pair!
Terrific N. wind all yesterday - the branches they had settled on for the night were being turned inside out.Yet today they are returning to my flowering plants.How did they survive???
This is the cage my Dear Husband made for my wintering butterflies. I have another the same to transfer the butterflies into after they have been fed. We took the pictures outside so the light was better. Cheers Margie
