i met a lady from this org last year and promised to contact her about the winter sitings of monarchs behind my house in clifford street kaikohe. the monarchs are gathering in two large totara trees in reed park which my property backs onto.
after seeing possibly only two manarchs all summer now when the sun comes out nicely, these creatures are gliding around the place eating from bottle brush, and playing around the totara trees. however they are only obvious when the sun is full. last year they seemed to fade away as winter really set in so if you wish to check them out a nice sunny day in the next couple of weeks would be rewarding.
