Three monarchs on three adjacent but different tall trees.
I can see a few still clinging to the acacia tree. Hopefully the rest are camping further in to the tree as I have only seen 4 wings on the ground. A patch of sun and a few appear on the flowers.
not very happy brought it inside as it was not fairing well with the southerly still in our front porch three days later is there anything i can feed it on have left windows open but doesn’t make any effort to leave.
chrysalis on swan plant…formed 10 days ago…has not emerged yet…
only a few of the monarchs have survived the winter conitions. numbers have deteriorated over the last 2 months only a handful remain and no clusters as previously reported
Sighting of Monarch at 11.45 and again in location 100 metres away at 12.40 pm Free flight.

coming back to my car and butterfly sitting on grass, looking poorly
We have a caterpiller on one of our swan plants which is about 1 cm in length. We have never seen this before in winter?
6+ butterflies, some bright & some faded, resting high up on sunny (north)side of camphor trees.
