Well the monarchs had not gone far. Neighbour noticed them sheltering among the branches of the willow and puiri trees during the recent rough weather. Today I was pleased to spot them flutterng all through the garden trees. In particular they hovered in the bottle brush bush gathering nectar. They appeared to be mating. By evening they had returned to the taller idesia tree but the number seemed fewer. Have taken some quite good footage of the sightings over these days.
