This is a male Monarch - note the two black “scent pouches” on his hind wings.
The veins (black lines) are also much thinner than on the female.

Seen about 4 butterflies now altogether but last sighting happened as I was watching the caterpillers on my swan plants and a butterfly landed and laid 3 eggs before flying off.

Have been around since Christmas Caterpillars crysallysing and hatching daily
lots of monarchs enjoying the many flowers in the Char Bagh garden
Several butterflies are hanging around the property - especially the back garden where the bush backs onto our property
Several Monarchs emerged together today - saw 12 Monarchs at one time, and two yellow admirals.

It was finding two dead Monarchs that began my journey……and so naturally, they are my favorites.
It is the Blue Morpho that is the most popular in sales………but then the Monarch!
