dead butterfly found on lawn, one only in fairly good condition
we were on our way to a school fun run and we had four manarchs fly past our car when driving down one particular Rd(genngarry rd)this was in the space of about a minute and a half! We have loads of manarchs this year in swanson my brother tracically passed in Jan so we atrributed […]
one,smallish,flitting around garden,alighting on a few flowers
I was out walking. One very healthy looking adult butterly, feeding avidly on numerous Hebe flowers. Was very active. I am sending photos to Jacqui.
Large male, sunning himself. Tagged, but couldn’t see number.
no wind, strong sunshine, no rain recently, warm for the last few days - no frosts
There were up to 20 butterflies parked up on branches about 20ft up the tree, on the sunny side., several looked to be older ones, but smaller ones looked quite newly hatched. They are usually always in this spot or nearby.
