Paper wasp or hornet bothered a monarch butterfly
3 to 5 monarchs - 1 female laying eggs on swan plant and 2 others feeding on Rosemary
have sighted 2 female monarch’s today,we have had huge success over thelast 8 month’s have hundreds hatch,i even give caterpillars away,to friends, had 15 hatch 2 day’s in a row ,earlier in year
Swooping round a house and garden, seemed to be enjoying the sun
One monarch butterfly apparently overwintering at this address. On some days up to three monarchs together, but usually just the one.
several still flying around, looking for swan plants,we grow them, but they get eaten bald so quickly.
Jacqui filmed a monarch egg hatching, and Saira edited the footage to music and made the hatching caterpillar dance. Here’s the resulting video!
