I liberated a Monarch which I had rescued from our cat. He/she happily flew away to land in a Kohekohe tree nearby. Since then the butterfly has returned and quite remarkably providing the temperature is 18-20 degrees, flies the same route over our front fence and along the front of our house from the property next door, at the same time (12.30-1.30pm) leaving at about 4pm. A second Monarch appeared about a week later and performs similarly.
