They fly around our garden all year round
Paper wasp actively hunting and eating caterpillers … I have found the most effective way to save the caterpillers is to cover egg laden plants with my caterpiller cosies. A quick, easy, effective solution against wasps, praying mantis, shield beetles, stick insects and what have you.

Not a butterfly, but a resonably mature caterpillar on one of my swan plants. A butterfly must hve been here last month.
